Run for Facing Africa

50% Contribution towards your registration

Please look at the Facing Africa website (www.facingafrica.org) to see a terrible disease called NOMA which kills over 100,000 very small children every year in Nigeria alone. I started this charity after seeing all the good work being done by previous competitors in the MdS and the money they were raising for so many good causes and felt that I too must do something worthwhile.

Allow Us To Contribute To Your Registration

The Trustees of "Facing Africa" have decided to subsidise anyone who is confident that they will raise more than £500 for the charity by competing on behalf of our charity to the tune of 50% per person (upto a maximum of the UK registration cost). If you are interested in participating in this scheme, this is how it works:-

You need to send a written undertaking to the Trustees of "Facing Africa - NOMA" stating that you have decided to enter for the MdS as an active fundraiser for this charity - you can send an e-mail.

You will pay all the MdS installments as outlined in the MdS literature as described. At the same time, you will start raising money for "Facing Africa - NOMA" among your friends, relatives, colleagues and with hand-outs, mailings, press releases etc.

Assuming that you have reached the minimum requirement of raising £500 for "Facing Africa - NOMA" and that the donations (cheques or credit card donations) have been forwarded to the charity, we will send you a cheque for 50% of your donation (excluding any gift aid that your donation is elegible for, and upto a maximum of the UK registration fee) after you return from completing the MdS.

Hopefully you will be able to raise much more than £250 for "Facing Africa".

In return, we will help you with the fundraising by sending out circulars to a variety of companies listing the competitors who join our project for their support with sponsorship. We will also supply you with copies of the "Facing Africa" leaflet and poster for your fundraising. Your name will also be mentioned in any "Facing Africa" press releases and newsletters.

Raising the registration fee for your entry from sponsors can be a tough job even if you say that you are doing the MdS to raise money for a charity. However, the pictures and brief description of this tragic (though easily preventable) disease will hopefully make your quest for funding that much easier and I very much hope that you will join our very worthy scheme.

Please give this your urgent and serious consideration and let me know as soon as possible if you want to participate in this joint venture between "Facing Africa" and yourself.

Yours sincerely,
Chris Lawrence
