"Survival of the fittest"

An excellent book by Dr Mike Stroud OBE who accompanied Sir Ranulph Feinnes in 1992/93 on the first unsupported crossing of Antarctic and is a specialist doctor in human endurance. He also competed in the MdS in 1994 and his book contains a complete chapter on his experience and some very useful medical advice - written in lay terms (food, dehydration, equipment etc)

Clive Gott

Clive Gott, a competitor in the 2006 MdS, has written an honest and emotional book telling his story about how he completed the hardest footrace in the world in 2006. A 'what it's like' book, not a how-to guide.

Steve Backshall

BBC Wildlife presenter Steve Backshall made a film of his experiences on the 2005 MdS, and is hoping to flog it to anyone who may find it useful. General feedback says this is very good.
